    Hi Eric & everyone else,

I have been meeting girls out and about during the daytime since a couple of years. Previously, I always did it with wingmen so we kind of pushed each other into interactions. Since the last 6 months, I have been trying to do it alone and faced massive resistance from my brain.

I found Eric’s book, bought it and read it. It was a huge help. Finally using the 6 step method I have been able to approach more consistently this year and have been able to get 2 dates this past month as well.

    So here is my problem:

When I do Step 2 and get next to girls, I automatically get the urge to start a conversation with them after the 2nd or 3rd girl. So I start with simple directions and then on the 4-5th girl I go direct and even have full fledged interactions. This goes on for a few days and I get numbers and even have gotten dates.

But then, the next week or after a few days, suddenly my resistance increases. Its like my brain catches up to the “trick” and when I tell myself, I don’t have to approach, all I need to do is go and do Step 2, my brain does not believe me and knows that I will eventually initiate conversations, so it puts up massive resistance to the very idea of going out. As a result, I then go days without even going out. Then my frustration builds and I finally repeat the cycle.

That’s why I call it the “rubber band” effect. It seems like I have a great week or few days and then bam, I snap back.

Do you think the solution is to do the “dry runs” as in the Step 2 over and over again for a longer WITHOUT moving to Step 3 even if I get the urge to initiate the conversation? I really enjoy Step 2 but once I move past it, for a few days my brain does not believe that Step 2 is success anymore and feels like what I really aim to do while going out is Step 3+.

Do you recommend me compulsorily just sticking to Step 2 for a month or a few weeks to overcome this?

Very grateful for any inputs and suggestions.

    Hey Stoic Warrior,

Missed this post earlier so sorry for the slow reply.

Feeling inhibition to going out is definitely a real thing. I haven’t experienced it the way you do. Part of that is that I make it a habit to go out. So for example, I may go out at 5 pm every day at the same time. That way I’m not thinking about it after a while. 5 pm rolls around and I grab my keys and my jacket and head out.

A few other options might be:

I assume you go out of the house to do other things, like go to the grocery store, etc. Try to integrate positioning, etc., when you do that.

Instead of just going out to meet women, try going out to other activities that interest you and meet women there.

    Eric
