Hey guys. If you’re anything like me, I’m sure you have moments where you start making excuses not to approach a girl. You’re not looking cool enough today. She probably has a boyfriend. There’s too many people around. Blah blah blah.
In those instances where I am really wrestling with my approach anxiety, I find it really helpful to ask myself these questions:
1. Am I predicting what will happen?
(i.e picturing a negative outcome)
2. Am I making assumptions about this girl’s personality?
(e.g she’s probably bitchy, she doesn’t like guys like me)
3. Would I like to feel less afraid next time I’m in this situation?
For me, the answer to all these questions is always yes, and when I realise it is only irrational fears holding me back, it makes it easier to approach.
It’s definitely helped me not to walk away from a few girls (or go back after I’ve already walked away). Hope this can help someone else too.
