Eric’s book is more about getting comfortable with every stage of the interaction, rather than actually showing how to pick the girl up. But it does give some pointers on what you can say.

I’ve had good results after direct approaches just swapping names and asking her how she’s doing today. This is something Eric does in the demonstration audio files too.

Typically she won’t respond with much other than ‘fine, how are you?’ But at that point you can start talking about yourself a bit (e.g ‘I’m tired today, did X interesting thing last night) and if you open up she will start to follow you.
