Now that winter rolled around, I’ve been looking for indoor places to meet women.
I was taking the train around the city looking for different locations, and I noticed something:
All the cute girls I was meeting were on the train going to these locations rather than at the locations themselves.
There’s a reason a lot of guys inevitably ask the question: How do I meet women on public transportation?
In New York City, aside from women walking down the street, there is probably no place you see more attractive women.
So it’s very worthwhile to get good at meeting women on public transportation.
First, let’s discuss the pros and cons of doing this.
The Advantages of Meeting People on Public Transportation:
There are a lot of gorgeous women. If you ride public transportation, I don’t have to tell you how many attractive women you see, particularly during rush hour. Read the rest of this entry »

As I get on to the subway platform, I’m tired. It’s 9 pm and I’ve been hanging out with Glenn and a friend in the park. I’m ready to just go home and chill.
I see this incredibly cute blond girl. She glances over at me and back at the tracks.
Is she into me, I wonder to myself.
I look around the platform and notice some other cuties wandering around, looking at subway maps, walking by.
I glance back over at her and she’s looking at me again.
Okay, she is definitely looking at me.
I walk casually walk over and stand next to her. She notices my presence.
I tap her on the arm.
“If you’re gonna look at a guy like that, you should probably say hi.”

It’s 1 PM on a humid Saturday afternoon.
I step onto the subway train.
The air conditioning feels like a relief. I see an open seat and sit down in it.
Almost immediately I notice her.
She’s standing on the other side of the train. I can only see her from the back but she looks amazing in her tight shorts.
It’s only when she turns a bit can I see the full extent of her cuteness. She’s even cuter from the front.
Every other guy on the train notices her as well. You can see them stealing glances.
This is the first girl today who’s inspired my interest. I notice her back is fully tattoo’d and think to myself that I could tell her I like her tattoo.
But it would be too weird and too obvious to walk all the way across the train to tell her I like her tattoo. Even the thought of that gives me too much anxiety. Read the rest of this entry »

10 AM. Subway.
I spot a hotty across the train.
She’s sitting but there are people in the seats next to her.
A stop later, a seat next to her clears up.
With no hesitation, I squeeze past some baby carriages and sit down next to her.
I pull out my phone and start flipping through it.
“Hey…” I say slowly in her direction. She turns her attention to me.
I’m still looking at my phone.
“Where’s Koreatown…? Is that in the 30′s…?” Read the rest of this entry »

I spot her from across the subway train. Seems attractive from here.
So I walk across the train and stand in her vicinity.
It doesn’t feel like an approach to me.
A few minutes later, as I’m looking down at my phone, I ask her a question.
“Do you know if there’s a zoo in Central Park?”
She gets a worried look on her face, as if to say, I can’t believe this guy is talking to me.
“Uh, yeah.”
“It’s kinda small though, right? Do you know if they have penguins?” I say with a smile.
“I think so,” she says. Read the rest of this entry »

It’s an ugly ugly day out. Cold and pouring rain.
I drank too much coffee and I’m feeling on edge.
I get onto the subway platform in Union Square.
I just finished my daily round: Starbucks, Barnes and Noble. Whole foods.
I didn’t even really get past banter with anyone today. Not many attractive women and I’m not quite in the mood.
As walk the length of the subway platform, I see a cute girl.
Not in the mood.
I see another cute girl. Not in the mood to walk over to her.

This is the worst feeling ever, I think to myself.
I was feeling great yesterday, and the day before.
But today, I just don’t feel like opening my mouth.
I just got back from a few days vacation with my family. I was social with them, but didn’t interact with anyone else.
I noticed more overall anxiety when I got back last night.
I walk out the front door of my apartment building and bundle up for the cold weather. I think about the possibility of talking to women today and it’s so remote.
I have the momentum of a steam engine–that’s in park.
I round the corner to the subway station. Head up the stairs to the platform.

During the AM rush hour in New York City, the subway train is QUIET. You wouldn’t think it would be so quiet.
Sometimes trains are packed so tightly, you can’t even get on. You need to wait for the next train.
You’d think that with this many people packed so closely together, that some of them would be talking. But very few do.
If they are talking, they already know each other. And who goes to work in the morning with their friends or lovers? Very few people do.
When I’m talking to a girl on the train, there are at least ten or twenty people that can hear. Read the rest of this entry »

I used to have demons in my room at night. Desire. Despair. Desire. So many monsters. – Annie Lennox
I’m coming off a fantastic weekend. Just finished teaching a workshop. It was beautiful. The best part about it was really connecting with the guys. Being a big brother to them. Seeing them change and grow. Seeing them struggle and overcome.
I don’t normally listen to my ipod on the way to work anymore. It’s too anti-social. I usually talk to a girl or so on the subway train in the morning on the way to work. It’s the best way to start off the day.
This morning is different. I have my headphones on. And I’m listening to slow sentimental music. And I feel great. I don’t even care Read the rest of this entry »

Submission is a result of the ambivalence between fear and attraction.
She is sitting there next to me in the bar. She is a beauty queen, this one. We are locked in conversation. I have been teasing her and connecting with her on many different levels for the last 45 minutes. Things are going “well” by any standard. I know, however, there are more words that need to come out of my mouth.
And I am gripped by fear.
I’d approached her on the subway. A casual opener asking her if this train goes to 14th street. When she told me it does, I hired her as my personal assistant. I told her I would take her everywhere with me. Read the rest of this entry »
