3 AM. Sunday night. Insomnia. Missing something or someone I can’t have now.

2 PM. Monday afternoon. Pouring rain. Time for my daily outing.

My inner wimp grumbles.  I grab my boots and my umbrella and head out anyway.

I get into the elevator.  I say “Hi, How you doing?” to another guy in the elevator.  My voice is weak and quiet.  We chat about the weather a bit.

Outside I make my rounds. H&M.  Nothing out today.  Finally find a semi-cute girl and ask her where the men’s section is.

My voice is louder now, more present.

It was a while since I’d gone out at night with some friends just to run game.

After a chomping down a steak barbecue, we head out to the streets to hit the bars of Williamsburg.

The agenda for the evening?  The apocalypse opener.

You say “Hi.  How are you?”  She responds.  She asks how you are.

In as casual a tone as possible, you say “Good. Do you want to go home with me?”

After a few drinks when you’re running around with your buddies, this opener ends up being more funny than anything.

On our way to the bars, we do the opener a number of times to women walking by on the street.  Almost all positive responses.

Most women think it’s funny.

After having a lot of fun interactions in different bars, we end up at a crowded bar with loud music.

I’ve seen Robbie Kramer do some amazing things with women. He’s one of the most playful, creative yet centered guys I know.

For as long as I’ve known him, I’ve picked up great openers from him and really enjoyed watching every aspect of his game, from pickup to dating multiple women.

[A while back I wrote about this great opener he came up with, which I was using for a while.  “Can I get your advice about something?" he says to a woman. "If you were a guy with brown hair,” he continues to describe himself “and a silver necklace and striped shirt on, and you were interested in a girl who had short blonde hair,"  he describes her, "a nose ring and a cute smile just like that, what would you say?”]

I’ve seen him do things with women most anyone would easily describe as out of his league.
